War with Iran – It’s not a Threat it’s a Promise!!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post.
I really thought this was an act of insanity that was off the table as Wubya and Darth Vader left the White House. Just when you think it cannot get any freakin worse BAM the DC criminals just have to exceed what one would think are the limits of political idiocy. Unfortunately, this is not me being just an overly jaded state hating individual. War with Iran is on, locked and loaded; although your representatives will not tell you the decision to allow Israel to attack Iran is a done deal.

Lets start in with a recent speech in the cesspool of humanity WA DC, given by a first class war monger Hillary Clinton. At the new satellite office of the council on foreign relations this statist not only admits that the CFR is where the US Govt. gets its marching orders but promises that military action against Iran is not a threat but a promise.

She starts with this candid statement, “We get a lot of advice from the Council, so this will mean I won’t have as far to go to be told what we should be doing and how we should think about the future.” The transcript is available here.

This was just getting her overlords warmed up like the stripper who first climbs the pole still wearing her gear. She was ready to turn the heat up hotter, much hotter. She delivers what the war party wanted to hear with this paragraph found at the link above:

“And to these foes and would-be foes, let me say our focus on diplomacy and development is not an alternative to our national security arsenal. Our willingness to talk is not a sign of weakness to be exploited. We will not hesitate to defend our friends, our interests, and above all, our people vigorously and when necessary with the world’s strongest military. This is not an option we seek nor is it a threat; it is a promise to all Americans.”

Who is this directed at? It is pretty obvious since there are only a hand full of regimes who commit the ultimate crime of not complying with American directives immediately.

When it came to War in Iraq a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) was all that was required however when it comes to IRAN and the NIE says they are not working on a weapon the NIE must be thrown in the recycle bin. This hypocrisy is so common place that Americans do not consciously perceive it.

Out of the right side of his mouth Obama calls on Israel and India to join the NPT, which IRAN is already a signatory. Out of the right side of his mouth Obama seeks to deny the right to develop civilian nuclear energy that Iran is entitled to as a signatory. They are also allowing inspections per this treaty and are in full compliance with a civilian program. To the War party this is a meaningless detail.

Israel and its client state the US recently met focusing on Iran. The story linked states:
“A senior Israeli defense official, in a Thursday interview with the Times, said the move should be seen as serious preparations for a long-expected Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites. This is preparation that should be taken seriously. Israel is investing time in preparing itself for the complexity of an attack on Iran," said the Israeli defense official, who was speaking on condition of anonymity. "These maneuvers are a message to Iran that Israel will follow up on its threats," he added.

What I find absolutely incredulous is that Iran is not working on a nuclear weapon. Israel and its client state the US are producing the most belligerent rhetoric towards IRAN. Iran has every reason to fear the rhetoric as the US followed through on similar rhetoric and invaded countries that boarder the east and west side of Iran. The Western boarder of Iran is IRAQ. Although IRAQ had nothing to do with 911 we invaded due to a WMD threat. IRAN’s south-eastern border is a country called Afghanistan. The participants of 911 were at one time hiding there, yet cannot be located. The US armies already occupy countries on either side of Iran and our belligerent threats how can they not be working on weapon?

We are doing everything short of War to push this country toward nuclear weapons.

I sincerely hope that the American people realize the more our aggressions grow outside of our country the more despotic we are sure to become at home.

Another Staged Arrest – The Final Chapter

This is the last follow up I will post on this topic because we can now answer the critical question raised in last post on May 24th. You can review the original story here and review below my first two posts on May 21st and May 24th.

The Village Voice has done a decent follow-up on the FBI’s confidential witness (CW).

In my last post the critical question was when did the CW start recruiting these men? Also, who was the leader, these four two bit criminals or the CW?

First, this is not the first set up from this CW, Shahed Hussai code named Malik. Since he has gone to work for the feds in the hopes of not being deported for his criminal conviction this is his second plot uncovered.

Quoting from the Voice article linked above, “In both cases, Malik did not stumble upon active terror cells plotting to bring destruction on American soil. Instead, in both Newburgh and Albany, he needed long periods of time to recruit his Muslim contacts, spin elaborate tales about his terror contacts, and develop solid plans of action, all the while providing the defendants with large amounts of resources and cash incentives.”

Is this what the FBI has become? Just high paid entrapment coordinators? Use one criminal to create a crime and lure other simpletons into the trap with easy money? You still have doubts?

Back to the Voice article, “As he had done in Albany, Malik showed up in Newburgh, went to a local mosque, and started looking for recruits.
He found them in four convicted felons with dozens of arrests between them. He initiated the conversations, introduced the idea of a terror plot, and delivered the money, equipment, and resources to back it up. He quickly became known as the guy with ready cash who was interested in the lives of others and was quick to provide aid and comfort.
Malik even offered to pay medical bills when he found out that one of his targets, David Williams, had a brother fighting liver cancer.”
It goes on, “Williams's mother, Elizabeth McWilliams, tells the Voice that Malik approached her son with an offer of monetary assistance for her ailing younger son, Lord McWilliams, 20.
"He told my son [David] that he was going to help with the bills," she says. "He only met him [Malik] in March. My son came to me and said, 'Mom, don't worry about Lord. I met this Muslim brother who says he's going to help us.' "
Her younger son had signed up for the U.S. Navy and was preparing to ship off to boot camp when he was diagnosed with the disease. He was hospitalized for three months and had his spleen removed. Malik not only offered to help with her son's bills, McWilliams says, but also talked about sending him to Universal Studios, the Florida amusement park, when he was well enough to travel.
McWilliams says that Malik was supposed to hand over the cash on the very day that the police made the arrests.”

Whatever these men were, it was not an active terror cell. This man clearly gained trust with money and promises and pulled them in for the Feds. This is not justice.

As a new blogger one of my first posts went out on a limb the day of the original Newburgh arrest and called this for the sham it turned out to be. If I could spot that easily I am hopeful that others are also not fooled by this affront to the principles of freedom.

This is another pathetic marketing attempt for the farce known as “Obama’s Global War on Terror”. It used to be Bush’s however; Obama has gladly picked up the torch and carried it forward. I am sure gwb is as proud of Obama as bill kristol and other neo-con war party cheerleaders have stated they are of his Change.

Worth the wait!

I have not posted in some time and I owe Enemy of the State's reader a sincere apology.

Washington cannot call all the shots

This is an OpEd piece from the FT and I think it validates the concerns I spoke of in the post called "Faster than the Speed of Light". The Financial Times is as mainstream as any business publication in the world including the WSJ. -c2084

Challenging America will be the focus of meetings in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on Monday and Tuesday for Chinese President Hu Jintao, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and other leaders of the six-nation Shanghai Co-operation Organisation. The alliance comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajiki¬stan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, with observer status for Iran, India, Pakistan and Mongolia.

The attendees have assured American diplomats that dismantling the US financial and military hegemony is not their aim. They simply want to discuss mutual aid – but in a way that has no role for the US or for the dollar as a vehicle for trade among these countries.

The meeting is an opportunity for China, Russia and India to “build an increasingly multipolar world order”, as Mr Medvedev put it in a St Petersburg speech this month. What he meant was this: we have reached our limit in subsidising the US military encirclement of Eurasia while also allowing the US to appropriate our exports, companies and real estate in exchange for paper money of questionable worth. “The artificially maintained unipolar system”, Mr Medvedev said, was based on “one big centre of consumption, financed by a growing deficit, and thus growing debts, one formerly strong reserve currency, and one dominant system of assessing assets and risks”.

Keen observers of America, if not effective managers of their own economies, these countries argue that the root of the global financial crisis is that the US makes too little and spends too much. Especially upsetting is US military expenditure – such as military aid to Georgia or the presence in the oil-rich Middle East and central Asia – using money that foreign central banks recycle.

Overconsumption by US citizens, US buy-outs of foreign companies and dollars the Pentagon spends abroad all end up in foreign central banks. These governments face a hard choice: either recycle the dollars back to America by buying US Treasury bonds or let the “free market” force up their currencies relative to the dollar – thereby pricing their exports out of world markets, creating domestic unemployment and business failures. US-style free markets hook them into a system that forces them to accept unlimited dollars. Now they want out.

This means creating an alternative. Rather than making merely “cosmetic changes as some countries and perhaps the international financial organisations themselves might want”, Mr Medvedev concluded his St Petersburg speech: “What we need are financial institutions of a completely new type, where particular political issues and motives, and particular countries, will not dominate.”

For starters, the six countries intend to trade in their own currencies so as to get the benefit of mutual credit, rather than give it to the US. In recent months China has struck bilateral deals with Brazil and Malaysia to trade in renminbi rather than the dollar, sterling or euros.

Many foreigners see the US as a lawless nation. How else to characterise a country that holds out a set of laws for others – on war, debt repayment and the treatment of prisoners – but ignores them itself?

The US is the world’s largest debtor, yet has avoided the pain of “structural adjustments” imposed on other debtor nations. US interest rate and tax reductions in the face of exploding trade and budget deficits are seen as the height of hypocrisy in view of the austerity programmes that Washington has forced on other countries via the International Monetary Fund and other vehicles.

It is no mystery to other countries how the US remains above the law. Foreigners see a financial system backed by American military bases encircling the globe. The IMF, World Bank, World Trade Organisation and other Washington surrogates are seen as vestiges of a lost American empire no longer able to rule by economic strength, left only with military domination. They see this hegemony cannot continue without adequate revenues and are attempting to hasten the bankruptcy of the US financial-military world order. If China, Russia and their allies have their way, the US will no longer live off the savings of others, nor have the money for unlimited military spending.

US officials wanted to attend Yekaterinburg as observers. They were told no. It is a word that Americans will hear much more in the future.

DoD – “Protesting is Act of Terrorism”

One of the important steps in closing an open society is making any descent of state policy a crime.

The ten steps duplicated by hitler, lenin/stalin, mussolini, mao, franco & pinnochet ,which alllowed over 100 million people to be slaugheterd by thier goverments, are:
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
2. Create a gulag IE. Camp X-Ray
3. Develop a thug caste
4. Set up an internal surveillance system
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals
8. Control the press
9. Dissent equals treason
10. Suspend the rule of law

These ten steps are eloquently outlined in a column in the UK’s Guardian by Naomi Wolfe. Since she was raised in a “left” household she did neglect step 11 form her list.
Step 11. Confiscate the citizen's fire arms

Still, her column and narative of first ten are a must read.

Back to this PDF of a filing from the ACLU documenting that in DoD training all protests are considered a low level form of “terrorism”.

This really isn’t a surprise is it? This is just the state’s next logical step to managing any dissent towards wars of aggression and the eroding of civil liberties. What more can I say about this other than I do not recognize the country I live in anymore.

I will continue pray that my fellow citizens start to wake up from their slumber soon…

Selling Eggs Leads to SWAT Team Raid on Family

This isn’t breaking news but it is surely under reported. In addition to under reported, it validates the disconsolate state of Liberty in America.

The allegations against the family:
• They sold one dozen eggs to an undercover agent
• They operated the Manna Storehouse without a retail food license

For these less than capital offenses the state of Ohio’s Heath Department, State Dept. of Agriculture and Lorain County Sheriffs raided this family’s home prior to Christmas 2008. To ensure the safety of the 12 armed men executing the raid there were three sharp shooters on the parameter to provide additional cover. According to the expired search warrant deputies were to seize money and bank accounts. The complete inventory from storehouse of organic foods, from a variety of suppliers, as well as their personal food stock, were taken as the terrified family watched.

For over six hours 10 children, toddlers, and a baby were held hostage at gun point, while the state authorities confiscated computers, food, money and other items.

Their home is not just the Manna Storehouse co-op for local organic food producers but also a home school as well. We should all be terrified by the extreme response from the state for the allegation of selling food without a license. There was no allegations of guns, violence or any other threat to society yet guns and violence is how the state responds.

Who are the criminals in this scenario?

What really shows the how out of touch our “protectors” have become from the concepts of individual liberty and constitutional protections is the Sheriff’s defense of the raid. In the video below he actually explains they made certain considerations based on their knowledge that there were children etc in the home.

CONSIDERATIONS?!

I guess the state no longer CONSIDERS just sending someone out to ask the family if they sold a dozen eggs? Or, if they understand that they need a license if they truly are a retail food seller.

Maybe right the family a ticket?

Nope, these are no longer considerations of our state thugs. When they come to ask they will come with guns drawn and steal property. The only consideration is how many armed thugs will they bring and what property they will take.

It seems that civil discourse between government agents and citizens are no longer a consideration. Assume the position my friends.

Faster than the Speed of Light

What is faster than the speed of light?

The federal government of course, you should not be surprised that the state steals faster than the speed of light.

Beginning with the first banker takeover bill passed last October through March 31st of this year the total amount of new debt created totals $12.8 trillion according to this article in Bloomberg. Despite the conventional explanation of what this money is being used for you can rest assure that this is nothing more than the final fleecing of what little is left of this country’s wealth.

To put this into perspective lets use the speed of light. Light travels in a vacuum at 186,000 miles per second. In one year light would travel 5.9 trillion miles while in less than one year the state has created $12.8 trillion in new debt. The state creates debt faster than the speed of light. This inflation of the money supply should terrify any sane person with a fundament grasp of the economics.

Can you say Zimbabwe ? Here, PHD economist Marc Faber predicts that we will see hyperinflation similar to Zimbabwe. “I am 100 percent sure that the U.S. will go into hyperinflation,” Faber said. “The problem with government debt growing so much is that when the time will come and the Fed should increase interest rates, they will be very reluctant to do so and so inflation will start to accelerate.”

On a related note a German company has brought to market an ATM that dispenses gold.

Why? Gold will never match the convenience and portability of cash or credit. What could be the reason for providing gold on demand? A currency crisis of course.

Take a good look around you my fellow citizen and know that what appears to be prosperity is an illusion. Our money is being destroyed in broad daylight and with it will go the American standard of living. If our standard of living ever returns it won’t be in your or your children’s lifetime.

We are living in a soviet style police state already and do not even realize it. What have we been thinking for the last 30 years as our once free society has become a nation of sheeple begging for government control?

May God help us!

Are you a Slave?

Change You Should Have Believed In!

It turns out Barrack meant change after all. He was far more sincere and committed to change than any of his followers could have possibly realized. Unfortunately, the change our dear leader was referring to was him changing every campaign statement/promise of substance.

We should have known, right?

He changed his take on warrantless wiretapping of Americans during the campaign. If you cannot recall this about face you can review the sad story here.

So let’s review the change Barrack really meant. The change we should have believed in:
•The Bush Administrations warrantless wiretapping of all Americans phone calls, e-mails, etc.
•Bringing American troops home from Iraq
•The unconstitutional “enemy combatants” classification to deny habeas corpus & due process to terror suspects
•The Bush administrations’ “Extraordinary rendition”, kidnapping people and sending them to black sites in other countries to be tortured
•That torture is wrong and that we should not torture people since it is against US & International law
•The Bush administrations’ use of executive signing statements to undermine the rule of law
•The promise that an Obama administration would mean an end to business as usual for Lobbyist in Washington DC – and he would not have any lobbyists in his administration

I bet I am missing one or two since I did not support this man for president. I would hope that maybe a reader could send any significant items I am missing to add to the list.

Let’s review these campaign statements/promises shall we?
The Bush Administration implemented a program that engaged in warrantless wiretapping of all Americans phone calls and e-mails you can read about it here.

This program was conducted by the NSA under the guidance of four-star general Michael Hayden. The NSA was given direct access to the fiber optic hubs by all major telecoms. By tapping directly into the fiber all data passing through these hubs was mined in its entirety by the NSA.

Actually, one company did refuse the request because it was against law and that company was Qwest. Shortly thereafter Qwest became the target of a federal investigation but of course this was not related in any way to the unwillingness to aid abet the NSA in this illegal program.

Once this program became public Congress stepped up to the plate to fulfill their oversight responsibility. As we would expect the honorable elected representatives of the people immediately took bold and decisive action. This was one issue that even politicians would not allow to be confused by any ambiguity. We are nation that holds dear the notion that Americans are ruled by no man however all men must submit to the rule of law.

Our honorable congress people responded to their call to duty by drafting legislation that would make the program completely legal. They also wanted to be sure no culpability was overlooked so they included immunity for all the companies that participated in the illegal program.

Sadly, this is the truth. Our politicians responded to this egregious violation of all Americans 4th amendment protection against illegal searches and seizures by gutting the 4th amendment. With the 4th amendment eviscerated and immunity for the participants our representatives sold us and our constitution down the river.

Seemingly to the rescue however came candidate and sitting senator barrack obama. He made a pledge here to a crowd in Wisconsin that he would filibuster this legislation, or any legislation that contained immunity for the telecoms. Yes, here was finally change you could believe in America. Or was it?

Not!

Of course this man running for the dictator of the American Empire could not actually follow the constitution. So he didn’t. Gullible Americans still bought the change mantra all the way to the polls.

The commitment to bring the troops is different and surely he could not back out of this promise, could he?

Upon taking office obama asked for a plan to remove all combat troops from Iraq. To date we have not seen the forces draw down in Iraq and come home. Some troops have left Iraq however they went to the AF-Pak front in the global war terror. Our dear leader is planning in escalating US troops in the F-Pak theatre by at least 30k, see the latest obama plan here.

During the transition from candidate obama to president elect, to president obama his statements around ending the Iraq conflict have followed a parallel transition. The political skill of semantics and clarification begin to weave a hazy cover preparing the American people for the fact that he has no intention whatsoever of ending this conflict. One of our generals says we will be in Iraq for another decade and I would be willing to bet he has a more informed understanding than our dear leader.

Now that he actually could end the war terms like “combat troops”, “residual forces”, are the construction materials for an executive about face. His rhetoric around the AF-PAK campaign sound very similar to that of “W’s” grandiose plans for spreading democracy in Iraq and surely will lead to an even more frightening level of destruction. I cannot read the man’s mind but the fact is casualties are rising. As long as more non-combat people die, American soldiers continue to die, and the occasional terrorist dies, nothing is being ended. It so sad to the America follow the footsteps of others into the graveyard of empires called Afghanistan.

During the campaign the Boston Globe published a Q & A found
here that addresses four of the bullet points above; torture, enemy combatants, rendition, and executive signing statements. The answers here are very clear and unfortunately most people felt they could take the candidate’s statements at face value. They believed him. Let’s look at the specific Q&As that deal with the four bullet points I listed at the start of this piece.

Q- “Does the president have inherent powers under the Constitution to conduct surveillance for national security purposes without judicial warrants, regardless of federal statutes?”
A- “The Supreme Court has never held that the president has such powers. As president, I will follow existing law, and when it comes to U.S. citizens and residents, I will only authorize surveillance for national security purposes consistent with FISA and other federal statutes.”

Pretty clear answer to me. I think the point has been made the man deceived on this point. I keep coming back to this simply because this happened prior to the election.

Q-“If Congress defines a specific interrogation technique as prohibited under all circumstances, does the president's authority as commander in chief ever permit him to instruct his subordinates to employ that technique despite the statute?”
A- “No. The President is not above the law, and the Commander-in-Chief power does not entitle him to use techniques that Congress has specifically banned as torture. We must send a message to the world that America is a nation of laws, and a nation that stands against torture. As President I will abide by statutory prohibitions, and have the Army Field Manual govern interrogation techniques for all United States Government personnel and contractors.”

It is humiliating to me as a Father and an American that this is even something that we could debate. If we do not prosecute the crimes of torture that have been committed than we are absolutely condoning torture and this would be another campaign “Change” that we should have believed in…

Lastly, it will start on terrorists or other bad people that we can all agree are horrible. Once the concept is approved it is only a matter of time before we will be tortured. The state only expands its power and reach. This will expand as well.

Q- “Does the Constitution permit a president to detain US citizens without charges as unlawful enemy combatants?”
A- “No. I reject the Bush Administration's claim that the President has plenary authority under the Constitution to detain U.S. citizens without charges as unlawful enemy combatants.”

Again, not any ambiguity found in this response. This Q&A piece is from the Dec 2007, lets look at a recent obama take on the enemy combatants’.
At first glance it is very encouraging to find that obama is still absolutely in opposition to the concept of “enemy combatants”. The problem is he wants to create the legal framework and institutionalize, making it routine if you will, a concept he calls “preventive detention”.

This would still deny habeas corpus and due process. Who seems like the only voice of reason from the left anti-war movement left Glenn Greenwald does an excellent job walking through the facts of this disturbing concept here. The key points to preventive detention (PD), are that this allows someone to be imprisoned without being charged with a crime forever.

How could we ever trust as government with this type of power? History is filled with the results of this type of totalitarian legislation. God help us if this is really were we have come to as a nation.

Q-“Under what circumstances, if any, would you sign a bill into law but also issue a signing statement reserving a constitutional right to bypass the law?”
A-“Signing statements have been used by presidents of both parties, dating back to Andrew Jackson. While it is legitimate for a president to issue a signing statement to clarify his understanding of ambiguous provisions of statutes and to explain his view of how he intends to faithfully execute the law, it is a clear abuse of power to use such statements as a license to evade laws that the president does not like or as an end-run around provisions designed to foster accountability.”
“I will not use signing statements to nullify or undermine congressional instructions as enacted into law. The problem with this administration is that it has attached signing statements to legislation in an effort to change the meaning of the legislation, to avoid enforcing certain provisions of the legislation that the President does not like, and to raise implausible or dubious constitutional objections to the legislation. The fact that President Bush has issued signing statements to challenge over 1100 laws – more than any president in history – is a clear abuse of this prerogative. No one doubts that it is appropriate to use signing statements to protect a president's constitutional prerogatives; unfortunately, the Bush Administration has gone much further than that.”

I do not read any doubt in the response to this question in candidate obama’s response. As of march 11th, here obama takes on a few issues through the signing statement process. He reserves the right as dictator to bypass certain disputed provisions in the $410 bil spending bill and a Public Lands bill. See a great summary here, & here.

This leaves the issue of rendition that I believe obama called unconstitutional.

Well he intends for rendition to continue and that is a crime.

There are real terrorists in this world however I think there are better ways to deal with them. One for example is try them in abstentia. Then we use letters of marqe and reprisal and go arrest them. No wars of war on terror. This was the way Jefferson dealt with the Barbary pirates. We do not need a preemptive invasion of a country to battle terrorism. We are so far from the path that is becoming a constitutional republic it is terrifying as it seems each new step forward takes us closer to a cliff.

Then two other pledges that that candidate obama made were no lobbyist in his administration, and that Americans would have 5 days to review the bill online before he signed it into law. These have already gone to the wayside in his first 100 days. It is par for the course.

In closing I want to say I do not have any particular distaste for our dictator. He truly is no better or no worse than his predecessor. That is exactly the problem. The democrats and the republicans play a no win game against us. This fake left right paradigm is a trap. The one thing that bush proved is that republicans are not conservatives. Where was the fiscal responsibility, the humble foreign policy, the limited role of government in your private life? These supposed principles were forgotten when the republicans could have actually accomplished this things.

Whatever obama is don’t bet he will bring our troops home nor do anything less than continuing to grow government, attack civil liberties, everything that bush started, barrack will finish.

Turn off the TV and read. The internet is living on borrowed time so take advantage of the free access to alternative information while you still have it. Rediscover the concept of freedom.
